Inclusivity on Pack: Improving Pack Accessibility and Transforming Products into Experience-led Services Using AI.
We created a world first ‘Accessible QR’ (AQR) code with Zappar, in 2023 that can be detected by accessibility apps, supporting more inclusive packaging by making access to information on products available to everyone whatever their visual acuity. In October 2023, we went one step further with AQR, as Colmans partnered with Be My Eyes, where they can be connected to a volunteer to support with cooking of the product or to a virtual AI-chat bot, using Chat GBT 4 capabilities, to support with any recipe or cooking questions they may have. This not only supports the blind and visually impaired but also supports underconfident cooks, marking the next evolution of the AQR code, providing accessibility support beyond audio playback with an experience-led service.

Hello Products - a Colgate-Palmolive company - set out on a mission to reduce plastic packaging and water use, while offering a unique consumer experience in the morning. This launch leveraged 100% recycled plastic, right-sized, mono-material, and unique recyclable pump, to allow for easy curbside recycling. This launch supports Colgate’s broader virgin plastic reduction and related circularity goals, along with the recyclable tube technology which impacts 20 billion tubes globally. Colgate is working hard and is excited to share our progress!
