An Award Winning Inclusive Package Design

Bud+Light++(2)

When the founder of Shot Of Gold, Marissa Bronfman, returned to Toronto from Mumbai, she wanted to start a social impact brand in the health food space that would keep her connected to India and allow her to give back to girls from the region.

Shot of Gold was established as the first turmeric single-serve additive on the market. She worked with Indian suppliers to develop an array of all-natural turmeric blends that would provide maximum nutritional and flavour enhancement, as well as having great appetite appeal. The packaging was designed to pay homage to the Indian origins of the product with henna-inspired patterning. Shot of Gold sourced the right packaging format for the product that would be easy for the consumer to use and that would showcase the striking gold graphics within the design. A gusseted outer pouch with a matte finish and metallic gold foil hot stamping was selected for launch.

The elegant packaging stands out against the competitive set with its striking metallic gold wordmark that supports the brand name. The pure white circle acts as a visual target that draws the eye to the logo and provides just enough quiet space to balance the intricacy of the patterning. Unlike many of the competitors, photography of the product is not placed at the forefront of the packaging, allowing the beauty of the design to draw the customer in.
