CVS Health Michael Graves Home Health Care
Introducing easy to use functionality, aesthetically designed and affordable products, CVS partnered with world renowned design firm, Michael Graves Design & Architecture (MGDA) to prove that everyday Durable Medical Equipment (DME) can be beautiful and functional.
The modernized collection of six new premium products are rooted in customer insights and specifically designed to meet the needs of the aging, caregivers and disabled. The user and caregiver are both commonly the buyers and assembler of the product. They often have mobility, strength, or dexterity issues, an increasing likelihood for elderly folks. The physical packaging structure had to be lightweight, easy to carry and intuitively accessible, and convey easy to assemble and use.
The unboxing and setup experience was considered to reduce strains and need for dangerous tools to access or assemble the product. We developed a “suitcase” style structure with convenient carry handle and lock-in seal, hinged at the top for ease of unpacking. Clear assembly instructions are provided on the back and sides of pack, and efficiently packed componentry are revealed inside, reducing pack size and overall weight making this easily accessible for aging user or caregiver.
